Well, here's an interesting item that could well have come from those old trading ships of the 1700's. This travel sundial needs a compass to find north. If you raise the triangular gnomon upright while pointing the compass needle North, it will show the time. The correct time will show when the local latitude corresponds to angle of gnomon.
